Hey there! My name is Jason Skoog. I live in Big Lake with my wife Liz, daughter Emma and our labs Ty Goes to the Runner (Ty) and Adrie.
I have been hunting and fishing all my life. After being a follower of Christ, being an outdoorsman really defines who I am. I especially love to duck hunt and deer hunt. I have also been known to tee it up now and then.
For the last 5 years I have been a mentor to a great boy named Treyton. He has been such a blessing in my life. I am also a Cub Scoutmaster of a Pack of awesome boys in downtown Minneapolis. Getting to volunteer with and help guide kids through life is such a wonderful gift to me.
I graduated from Big Lake High School in 1990 followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management & Communication in 2006 from Concordia University in St. Paul and a Master’s Degree in the same discipline from Concordia shortly thereafter. In between my schooling, I have worked for 14 years in Accounting, ran my own business based on my patent and am now running another business again along with my Fishing For Life duties.
I met Dave and Tom from Fishing For Life in 2009 at a sport show and fell in love with the organization. I was asked to be on the Board as a Treasurer in 2011 and started as an employee as of May 1, 2013. I love the fact that I get to combine my faith, education, passion for the outdoors and desire to help kids by being involved with Fishing For Life.
